하나님의 사죄의 약속(사1:18)을 믿는 자는 진실히 죄를 회개하게 되고, 또 성령이 주시는 평안을 얻게 된다. 그러므로 그는 기쁨이 충만하고 또 담대해져서 얼굴을 들게 된다. 사람은 하나님의 은혜로 의를 행하였을 때 담대해지고, 또 그가 범죄하였을 때에는 그 죄를 회개함으로 담대해진다. 사람이 비겁하게 되는 것은 자기 죄악을 숨기려고 하기 때문이다. 그 반면에 죄악의 편에 서지 않고 하나님 편에 서는 신자는 언제나 담대해진다.
잠28:1, “악인은 쫓아오는 자가 없어도 도망하나 의인은 사자 같이 담대하니라”
의인은 진실히 회개하는 자이다(눅18:13-14).

Job 11:15, “Then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear.”
Those who put trust in God’s promise of forgiveness (Is.1:18) will repent of their sins with a contrite heart. Also, they will receive peace that the Holy Spirit gives. As a result, they will be filled with joy and be bold enough to lift up their face. Believers become bold when, by the grace of God, they do righteous things. Also, they may become bold even after they have committed sins if they truly repent of their sins. People act cowardly and fearfully when they try to hide their sins. On the contrary, believers who take sides with God instead of sin always stand firm without fear
Proverbs 28:1, “The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”
The righteous are those who truly repent of their sins. (Luke 18:13-14).

About Lyricist
열두 살에 미국으로 이민 간 1.5세 목회자이다. 1990년에 자신의 모교인 일리노이 주립대학에 커버넌트 펠로우십 교회(Covenant Fellowship Church)를 개척하여 지금까지 섬기고 있다. 처음에 한인을 대상으로 영어 예배를 드리며 시작된 이 교회는 아시아 국가의 유학생들과 백인학생들이 몰려들면서 반 년 정도가 지난 후에는 이미 한인 교회라고 불릴 수 없게 되었다. 지금은 교회 구성원의 절반 정도만 한인이고, 나머지는 다양한 인종의 학생들로 구성된 인터내셔널 교회가 되었다.
교회를 개척할 때 받은 비전은 하나님 나라 일꾼을 세우려는 것이었다. 그에 걸맞게 이미 이 교회를 통해서 배출된 목회자와 평신도 사역자들이 수백 명에 이르고, 그들은 전 세계를 대상으로 사역을 하고 있다. 정민용 목사 자신도 미얀마, 에티오피아, 태국, 케냐 등 전 세계를 돌며 여러 사역을 진행하고 있다.
코스타 강사로 활동하고 있으며, 청소년 부흥 운동인 J-Gen과 대학생 부흥 운동인 OIL을 창립하였고, SIM, GP, KIMNET의 이사로 섬기고 있다. 또한 얼바나 신학교의 겸임교수이기도 하다.
일리노이 주립대학에서 심리학을 전공했으며, 비블리컬 신학교에서 목회학 박사(D.Min) 학위를 받았다.
현재 Gee 사모와 다섯 자녀 Joshua, Daniel, Ruth, Hannah, Sarah와 함께 얼바나에 거주하고 있다.

Affectionately known as “Pastor Min”, he is the founding and lead pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church. Along with his pastoral duties, he serves as a board member of “Serving in Mission (SIM)”, KOSTA, andKIMNET. He is also an adjunct professor at Urbana Theological Seminary. He received his Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from Biblical Theological Seminary and majored in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He currently resides in Urbana, IL with his wife, Gee, and five children, Joshua, Daniel, Ruth, Hannah, and Sarah.
